The DIY Rico Step™ Kit from Poison Spyder allows the do-it-yourselfer to add a heavy duty rub rail and entry step to the stock Jeep JK Rubicon rocker rails. The components provided in the kit are similar to Poison Spyder Ricochet Rockers™, hence the name of the kit. The kit includes DOM tube rub rails, Rico Steps™ and end gussets. The DOM tube pieces are CNC bent and pre-notched, ready to weld on. The Rico Steps™ and gussets are laser cut from 3/16 plate steel. The steps are brake-formed to provide extra strength and reverse-dimpled for foot traction.

The kit of course requires welding and should be installed by a competent welder. The parts are simply welded to the side of the stock rocker rail as shown. The Rico Step™ protrudes about 5" from the side of the jeep body to the outside edge of the rub rail. One of the attached photos show the components provided in the kit. The other photos show what they look like completed.

Poison Spyder offers a "we-weld-it" service for those of you who would rather send in your stock rockers and have us install the Rico Step™ Kit. You will need to re-paint or re-powdercoat the rockers when you get them back. This service costs $75 plus shipping. Call Poison Spyder at (951) 849-5911 to arrange for this service.

NOTE: For hard trail use, we recommend installing a set of Poison Spyder JK Body Armor at the same time as the Rico Step™. This will help protect your Jeep's lower body panels in the event that a rock may want to push up on the rocker rail, which with the increased leverage of the Rico Step may cause the rocker rail to make contact with the body sheetmetal.
